Chardonnay 2021

Stillwater Creek Vineyards-Royal Slope AVA

92 Points-The Wine Panel

Chardonnay is a winemaker’s grape. When introduced to oak barrels, all that lush pear and citrus round out into lemon chiffon pie, caramelized like crème brûlée. Baking spices of nutmeg and clove tip this towards a peach crisp finish screaming for a rich, buttery side of seafood. Scallops, crab cakes, triple cream cheese. Done.

"The judges enjoyed this medium versus-full bodied Chardonnay - it's delicious and very balanced. Rather than being over-oaked and buttery, this is a much more lean style with just enough oak. Yes, it was barrel-fermented, but in neutral barrels, and doesn't have that deep dark gold color, but more of a pale yellow. Expect notes of yellow apples, white peach, and stone fruit, with a pleasant, soft finish. And easy drinking Chard that could bring some back to this varietal." The Wine Panel

There is a reason Chardonnay is the most popular wine on earth!

Buzzard's Blend 2019

Dionysus, Bacchus and Stone Tree Vineyards

New Release

91 Points-the Wine Panel

50% Syrah, 23% Cabernet, 23% Weinbau Merlot, 3% Cab Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot.

"Don't let the crazy label fool you, this wine is no joke, even though the label features a Buzzard with a very sly grin. Surely named after winemaker Boyd "Buzz" Buckinghamas a fun way to do an unconventional blend without upsetting the wine Gods. The blend bounces around from year to year, but is mainly a Cabernet & Syrah & Cab Franc blend with a splash of Petit Verdot. All of the judges liked this wine, and couldn't believe the label when it was revealed after scoring it 91 Points. It drinks surprisingly elegant." The Wine Panel

Buzz always comes up with a fun blend that is always different. This vintage starts with a dark enhanced note of black cherry blending nicely with an earthy Syrah and finishing with a smooth, lingering flavor of currants and plum.  Limited to Stoners Wine Club and sure to sell quickly!

Pairs well with firm flavored foods - a sirloin steak topped with tarragon butter tops the list.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Dionysus and Bacchus Vineyards-White Bluffs AVA

New Release

This 2020 Cabernet/Cab Franc blend has special significance to us.  The fruit in this wine is all from Dionysus (Cabernet & Petit Verdot) and Bacchus (Cabernet Franc) and is where we first harvested fruit in 2004. The vines were planted in the early 1970’s and 50 years later they produce beautiful well-rounded fruit that rivals any fruit produced anywhere.  This blend boasts richness and structure with the smoothness of mature vines.  The Cab is fruit forward, the Cab Franc roll across your mid-palate and the Petit Verdot ends the experience.

Malbec 2019

Gamache Vineyard-Columbia Valley

Gold Medal Savor NW 92 points, The Wine Panel 92 points

"Darkness in a glass. Big, robust, non-apologetic Malbec. Aged in American Oak and sourced from Gamache Vineyards old vines, this is a pretty significant, full-bodied wine with enough intensity to stand up to a hearty entree of wild game or smoked meats, or even a rich triple cream cheese. Abundant blackberry, blueberry, and a touch of red current for zing. For a small production wine, this drinks like a $75 reserve release from one of Argentina's premier producers instead of a small Woodinville, Washington winery. " The Wine Panel

14% Mourvedre- New French Clone from Inland Desert Columbia Valley AVA

91 Points The Wine Panel

"While we're not sure most stoners would appreciate the layers of flavor in this wine, to Sol Stone fans it's a classic wine that seems to deliver every year. Expect multiple layers of red fruit flavors, and a wine that is classier than the playful name suggests". The Wine Panel

Our Stoners Red is a true "GSM"blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. This is a bold wine with bright fruit, aromas of ripe fruit, dried sage and pepper and herb finishes. One of our most popular wines, this will satisfy your taste for a rich Rhone style wine.

Syrah 2019

Weinbau Vineyard Wahuke Slope and Les Collines Vineyard-Walla Walla AVA

Syrah is one of those grapes that truly exhibits the characteristics of its growing site. This wine blends fruit from the Wahluke Slope that exhibits tastes of blackberry, sweet cherries, blueberry and figs with a tickle of rose petals. Subtle hints of menthol, black pepper, and bacon fat mingle with clove and vanilla. The fruit from Walla Walla adds that rich, earthy black fruit with hints of licorice that makes this wine region so special.  The combination has great minerality boasting dark richness which rounds and adds complexity to the finished wine.

Tempranillo 2019

Upland Vineyard- Snipes Mountain

 Gold Medal Savor NW

"Without a doubt, Tempranillo is the most popular grape in Spain, but it's turning heads in Southern Oregon and Washington State as well, and this is a great example of what the home team can do with this grape. Grown in the Upland Vineyards of the Snipes Mountain AVA in Eastern Washington, this continues to be one of the premier releases from Woodinville's Sol Stone Winery. The wine has a delicious, juicy red fruit character with a creamy texture and nice kiss of vanilla on the elegant finish." The Wine Panel

This ruby red wine smells of ripe cherries and red currants on a bed of dried flower petals. Whispers of five spice, leather and sandalwood mingle throughout its lush body colaked in soft velvety tannins. Pair with polenta or cheesy grits, smoky grilled meats or best yet, pizza!
